Case update: Arkansas COVID-19 cases increase by 90 Monday, hospitalizations continue to rise - Fayetteville Flyer

The Arkansas Department of Health announced that COVID-19 cases in Arkansas increased by 90 on Monday.

Hospitalizations went up by twenty, bringing the total number of Arkansans hospitalized to 281. There are 63 patients on ventilators, down one from the day prior.

The state also announced two new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the state as a result of the pandemic to 5,876.

There are currently 2,319 cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods. The ADH dashboard currently lists 144 active cases in Washington County and 148 in Benton County.

There were 1,019 PCR tests conducted in the state and 254 antigen tests.

The new cases bring the total cumulative count in Arkansas to 345,695 since the pandemic began.

The state announced that 1,550 additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, bringing the total number of doses given by the state to 2,086,830. The state lists 222,736 as partially immunized, and 968,173 individuals as fully immunized.

All Arkansans ages 12 and older are currently eligible for a vaccine.

The top counties for new cases on Friday were Pulaski (17), Washington (9), and Hot Spring (6)
