Case update: Arkansas COVID-19 cases increase by 276 Friday - Fayetteville Flyer

The Arkansas Department of Health announced that COVID-19 cases in Arkansas increased by 276 on Friday.

The state also announced five new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the state as a result of the pandemic to 5,874.

Hospitalizations went up by sixteen, bringing the total number of Arkansans hospitalized in the state to 235. There are 58 patients on ventilators, up two from the day prior.

There are currently 2,414 cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods. The ADH dashboard currently lists 149 active cases in Washington County and 141 in Benton County.

There were 1,734 PCR tests conducted in the state and 789 antigen tests.

The new cases bring the total cumulative count in Arkansas to 345,221 since the pandemic began.

The state announced that 6,361 additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, bringing the total number of doses given by the state to 2,075,439. The state lists 224,661 as partially immunized, and 961,230 individuals as fully immunized.

All Arkansans ages 12 and older are currently eligible for a vaccine.

The top counties for new cases on Wednesday were Pulaski (41), Benton (22), and Washington (18).
