Weld County officials reported 431 new COVID-19 cases in the past week, bringing the county’s cumulative case count to 26,291 as Saturday marks one year since officials announced the virus’ presence in the county.
The county’s two-week average positive test rate is 5.37%, slightly up from 5.3% a week ago. In the Greeley area, that rate is 4.74%. Southeast Weld County has the highest positive test rate in the county, 6.4%. North Weld County’s rate has dropped to 5.65%.
There are 64 COVID-19 patients at Weld regional hospitals, down from 73 the week prior. There are 293 hospital beds, 41 ICU beds and 101 ventilators available. A week ago, there were 321 hospital beds, 44 ICU beds and 105 ventilators available. The seven-day rolling average percent of beds occupied by COVID-19 patients is 5%, up from 4.5% a week ago.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reported 31 active outbreaks this week across Weld County:
- Alles Taylor & Duke, LLC: Two staff cases. Outbreak reported Tuesday.
- St. Vrain Block Company: Three staff cases. Outbreak reported Monday.
- Town of Frederick: Four staff cases. Outbreak reported March 5.
- Noffsinger Manufacturing Co.: Five staff cases. Outbreak reported March 4.
- John Evans Head Start: Two staff cases and one attendee case. Outbreak reported March 4.
- V.V. Nails and Spa: Two staff cases. Outbreak reported March 4.
- Hudson Fire Protection District: Six staff cases. Outbreak reported March 2.
- Trigger Time Gun Club: Four staff cases. Outbreak reported March 1.

- Weld County Jail: 87 inmate cases, 28 staff cases and one inmate death. Outbreak reported April 1.
- University of Northern Colorado Football Team: 14 student cases and two staff cases. Outbreak reported Jan. 26. No new cases since the week of Feb. 24.

- Camping World of Longmont: Nine staff cases. Outbreak reported Jan. 21. No new cases since the week of Feb. 17.
- University of Northern Colorado Men’s Basketball Team: Five student cases and one staff case. Outbreak reported Feb. 10. No new cases since the week of Feb. 17.
Greeley-Evans School District 6 reported 428 students and 51 adults were quarantined as of Wednesday.
County officials reported no new COVID-19 deaths in the past week, leaving the total number of deaths at 226. The state, which tracks deaths among people who died with COVID-19, also reported no new deaths in Weld County, leaving the total at 319.
Weld County remains at the Level Yellow: Concern phase. The county’s one-week cumulative incidence rate is up from the past week, to 139.6. The county’s one-week average positivity rate has increased to 5.3%, according to the state. Hospitalizations have declined or remained stable for six days.
Weld County reported Tuesday 22,064 residents have had their first doses of two-part COVID-19 vaccines, and 29,080 residents are fully vaccinated. The state reports 1,106,235 Coloradans have had their first doses, and 653,382 are fully immunized.
