
Weld County’s cumulative case count grew by 577 new cases in the past week, for a total of 23,398 cases.
The county’s two-week average positive test rate has continued to trend downwards, to 6.78%, from 8.45% a week ago. In the Greeley area, that rate is 5.97%. North Weld County now has the highest positive test rate in the county, at 8.38%, replacing Southeast Weld, which now has a rate of 8.11%.
There are 139 COVID-19 patients at Weld regional hospitals, down from 152 hospitalizations a week ago. There are 263 hospital beds, 35 ICU beds and 89 ventilators available. There were 259 hospital beds, 55 ICU beds and 101 ventilators the week prior. The seven-day rolling average percent of beds occupied by COVID-19 patients decreased to 8.9%.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reported 29 active COVID-19 outbreaks this week across Weld County:
- University of Northern Colorado Football Team: Seven cases. Outbreak began Jan. 25.
- Camping World of Longmont: Seven staff cases. Outbreak began Jan. 20.
- Ideal Completion Services: Four staff cases. Outbreak began Jan. 19.
- Life Care Center of Greeley: Two staff cases. Outbreak began Jan. 19.
- Metro Wastewater Reclamation District: Three staff cases. Outbreak began Jan. 15.
- TRC Construction Pipeline Crew: Three staff cases. Outbreak began Jan. 15.
- Intervention Community Corrections Services – Weld: Three resident cases and two staff cases. Outbreak began Jan. 13.
- Garden Square Westlake: Seven resident cases and five staff cases. Outbreak began Jan. 12.
- Cold Weather Shelter: 14 resident cases and one staff case. Outbreak began Dec. 21.
- Eaton High School: 26 student cases and eight staff cases. Outbreak began Dec. 14.
- Columbine Commons Assisted Living: 15 resident cases and 19 staff cases. Two resident deaths. Outbreak began Dec. 7.
- King Soopers, 6922 10th St.: 32 staff cases. Outbreak began Dec. 4.
- Target – Greeley: 18 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 30.
- Vestas Blades-Brighton: 42 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 9.
- JBS Greeley Beef Plant: 960 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 17.
- McLane Western: 74 staff cases. Outbreak began Oct. 30.
- JBS Corporate: 60 staff cases. Outbreak began Oct. 19.
- Grace Pointe Continuing Care Senior Campus: 40 resident cases and 42 staff cases. Six resident deaths. Outbreak began Sept. 30.
- Weld County Jail: 81 inmate cases, 27 staff cases and one inmate death. Outbreak began April 1. No new cases since the week of Jan. 13.
- Good Samaritan Society – Bonell Community: Four resident cases and 16 staff cases. Outbreak began Dec. 11. No new cases since the week of Jan. 13.
- Summit Bodyworks: 13 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 10. No new cases since the week of Jan. 13.
- Titan Solutions: Three cases. Outbreak began Jan. 6. No new cases since the week of Jan. 13.
- Birch Assisted Living: Two resident cases. Outbreak began Dec. 31. No new cases since the week of Jan. 13.
- Boulder Scientific Company: Three staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 17. No new cases since the week of Jan. 6.
- Vestas Blades-Windsor: 37 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 16. No new cases since the week of Dec. 30.
- Nature’s Herbs and Wellness Center: Seven cases among staff. Outbreak began Oct. 28. No new cases since the week of Dec. 30.
- Carestream Health Inc.: 16 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 6. No new cases since the week of Dec. 23.
- Tagawa Greenhouse Enterprises: Seven staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 25. No new cases since the week of Dec. 16.
- Town of Firestone: 11 staff cases. Outbreak began Oct. 27. No new cases since the week of Nov. 4.
Greeley-Evans School District 6 reported 426 students and 85 adults were quarantined as of Wednesday. The district quarantines individuals when there has been a potential exposure to the virus.
County officials reported three COVID-19 deaths in the past week, for a total of 193. The state also reported three deaths among people who died with COVID-19 in Weld, for a total of 304.
Weld County remains at the Level Orange: High Risk phase. The county’s two-week cumulative incidence rate remains in the Level Red zone, at 379.9. The state has approved a 5 Star variance program for Greeley, Evans and Windsor, on the condition the municipalities reduce their incidence rates to below 350 for seven consecutive days. The county’s two-week average positivity rate, 6.5%, according to the state, is in the Level Yellow zone. Hospitalizations, which are tracked by the county of residence of patients, have declined or remained stable for nine days — another metric in the Level Yellow zone.
The state reports 393,626 people have received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 98,301 people have received their second doses.
